Unable to play back video's posted on this site

For some reason, I am unable to play back videos posted on the site now ? This has been going on for a couple of months. I'm trying to address the problem now. Any thoughts ?? Thanks.

Re: Unable to play back video's posted on this site

Does the video show up and once you click play it just goes black screen of death, or do you not even see the video player and thumbnail image and play button?

Some common things to check with media issues on-line: Are you using Windows 7 with current patches? If so changes will have to be made to the no longer supported native browser IE 11 to get around tighter security settings. If not run windows update until there are no updates waiting after a restart. There are posts about setting the mixed media setting in older Internet Explorer installations.

If you are using Windows 10 with Edge browser something may need updating or use a third party browser, since many sites have issues with Edge blocking more than expected.

Using a third party secure browser such as Firefox, Opera as your default should have no issues. And if you don't mind Google knowing everything you do their Chrome browser has no issues displaying mixed media code.

Don if you click the Learn More link in the error message does it load? I've never seen that window warning in the youtube library so not sure if its being generated by them server side, or by your browser client side. Which browser and version (from its help or about window) are you using to get this message?

Re: Unable to play back video's posted on this site

I was using Microsoft Edge. Yes it does load, and offers some suggestions. One of the suggestions was to switch to Chrome. I did. Same error message appears.

I know what this is. hold on. i'll send a report in. some users are affected. most of this will work on Firefox since I haven't been able to see the issue on that.

Re: Unable to play back video's posted on this site

I've had the same problem in the past, but for some reason, not now. If I clicked the play button on the image it would not play, but if I clicked the title in the black bar across the top of the page it would; go figure.
