Re: Ed James - Scuncio Chevrolet, Rhode Island
Glad you are doing OK. I thought you would enjoy seeing this. I know you have helped others and have done a lot of research on many of the old muscle cars in Rhode Island.
I finished restoring a 69' Camaro conv. that originally came from Norwood Motors in Warwick, RI.
When I painted the car I left the 2 alignment holes from the original dealer badge with hopes that I could find an original or somehow repair a pitted salvage yard one.
I searched everywhere and tracked down every mechanic from the late 60's that I could find that had worked at Norwood Chevrolet.(Norwood Motors)
My thought was that someone that worked there might have had a dealer badge stuck to the top of their tool box.
Finally, after months of searching I came across one of the mechanics that had worked there and had it laying in a display case in his house as a momento from his years of service.
After sharing some of his memories, negotiating, and knowing that it would be resting where it was intended to be displayed, he agreed to part with it.
