Active duty 1982 - 1986. Basic at Dix, spent next three years as Colin Powell's crew chief with V Corps. Fliegerhorst and Weisbaden.

Just embarked on restoration/rebuild of my 69 camaro and found this site. Lot's of great information and I thank all of you for your service.

US Army, 82-86. Basic at Ft. Dix, AIT for 67G at Ft. Eustis, stationed with 12 CAG, 11th Avn Battalion in Germany for final three years. Was crew chief for Colin Powell for a year and half. Had a great time.

Tim welcome to TC and thanks for your service. I also took basic and AIT at Fort Dix back in 67 before going to Vietnam. What I remember about Fort Dix was the constant roar of jet engines.

I don't recall any jet engines but I do recall wearing everything the army made for cold weather at the same time and still freezing

U.S. Air Force, 1981-1990. Radar Technician on F4-E and F4-G aircraft. Stationed at Moody, Osan, and George AFB. Got out in 1990 and joined Northrop Grumman as a Test and Checkout Technician on the B-2 Bomber program. Been with Northrop for 29 years, currently doing Test and Eval on the Global Hawk unmanned aerial vehicle program at Edwards AFB for the last 12 years.
