I read your post where you said your pump kicks on every time you step on the brake. I thought you said that was without a reservoir.
I d out my booster is leaking as it was just rebuilt and restored. I mounted the pump behind the bathere and then the reservoir behind the washer bottle. All there is between the pump and the reservoir is about 5 feet of vacuum hose and then it hooks dire tly to a Che k valve as it gets to the reservoir so that is in essence the same as having a check valve directly in front of the pump. The problem is as soon as I got done installing it I ran it for ten or 1t .inutes and then had to quit working on it and haven't been back to it. I think I have a leak as evidenced by the pump running after the car was shut off for t minutes and the brake was not stepped on. In that 5 minutes the reservoir lost its stored vacuum. I figure it out next time I work on it.
