Looking at a 67 GTO to buy what should I look for

Hi, I going to look at a 67 GTO rag top w/a 4spd. Car hasn't been driven in two years and will not start. What are some of the things I should look at before I buy.
Thanks
Jim

If your looking for the car to be a numbers correct GTO look at the block casting number, engine letter code, production date code, vin and data plate. Also, check the transmission codes.

Good luck,

Randy

Randy, any idea what a good price would be for a 67 in pretty good shape. It does need some work has some rust & wear, it is a driver not a show car. And not going to be a show car but I intend to make it a cool hot rod. No plans on selling it.
Thanks
Jim

Jim,

Around 50 are listed on http://www.collectorcartraderonline.com, starting at around 5 K (without motor and tranny) and going up to 100 k.

Lars may be able to give you a better idea of the value,

Good luck,

Randy

no tri power option in 67(1 good 4 bbl is better anyway)
check the frame where it goes over the rear end, they tend to rust out there

Last year for the Tripower ("Triple Power Pack") was 1966. No 400s built with the Tripower - they were all Q-Jet cars, which is a better setup anyway...
