My 05' GTO vs...

Thought I would start a thread for races I've encountered in my GTO. As of now it only has K&N isolated intake, and light exhaust work. Manual transmission.

Had some good runs in the past two days. Last night ran into another 05' GTO with Auto trans, intake, light exhaust work, and predator tune. Was even the same color. 0-95MPH. He would get a slight pull when it came to my shifting, but by the end of race we were nearly even side by side. He had about quarter car length. Guess the manual made up HP difference for his tune. Was nice to see my GTO is performing as it should be.

2007 Ford GT500 Shelby Mustang this afternoon 0-135MPH. Held a two car length lead on him up to 80MPH. The shelby pulled slightly 80-110 closing the gap to about a car length behind. GTO regained another half length 110-135MPH. Shifted at 6k RPM every gear on that race with near perfect launch. When we had chance to talk told him thought his Shelby would pull, and he mentioned it did for a few, but our top end is better.

So in the same night I get smoked by some 90's POS looking Mitsubishi (gallant?) with high output turbo setup run into a new 5.0 mustang. Guy said it was stock and manual transmission. We got several runs from stop to about 90MPH. First race he pulled ahead slightly. I was shifting 6k RPM. Second race decided to go all out 6.5k shifts. Ended up a car length ahead at the end! Probably came down to driver mod, but for the most part the two cars seemed very evenly matched. Good times!

Nice man. I'm here in lame ass south Carolina where mustangs and imports are seen by the hundreds. Sadly no one here fancies a lil competition. Bunch of show off lames. And I've only seen three other gto's besides mine. Sad world over here where I'm at :/
