Paint or Vinyl wrap??

I have fallen in love with the Blue Chrome colored vinyl. I understand they don't make a paint with the same mirror like reflective properties and anything close will cost me a fortune. Has anyone done a wrap and how long might it hold up? Also vinyl shop says they need a clear coat to aply vinyl to so iff I primmered and cleared could that clear just be scuffed in a couple few years and then painted and cleared

All I know has been gained from Hot Rod magazine's articles on wrapping your car. Here's the latest, hope it's helpful:

There is a car in the Charlotte area I see once in a while wrapped in chrome. Definitely stands out, but you might want to check on price as I understand that it is not inexpensive. They probably want a clear coat to give the wrap a good surface to adhere to, so that will have to be added to your costs.

You might want to visit www.gatorwraps.com, you can request for a quote plus they have a lot of vinyl wraps with lots of colors to choose from. Professionals there will be able to address all your concerns.
