North Austin--Window Tint

I'm not sure how many Goat-owners on these forums are from the Austin area (I think I've seen one), but figured I'd give this a shot and see if anyone had any recommendations for a window tint shop in the northern Austin area (including Round Rock, Georgetown, Pflugerville).

I'm looking for recommendations on a shop that does good installs and provides lifetime tint warranties (most will do this, but not all). Right now I'm leaning toward ceramic tint--do not want a metallic tint due to possible electronics interference.

Check out the forums. I'm not trying to jack your thread, but I pretty much stopped using this site because they have much more Austin people there. Also, there is a gathering every Saturday at the Home Depot at 1431 and Parmer lane. Always get some Goats there. The Austin Goat Herd is the local club.

In answer to your question, Mothers does good work. We have had five cars tinted there, including the GTO, and always like their work. I have metallic tint on my 05, and radio reception changed very little. AM reception went down a little because of the lower signal strength than FM, but you wouldn't even notice otherwise. Get what you want, you won't be unhappy with metallic. They offer lifetime warranties and do a huge volume of installs due to good quality and reputation.

There is a truck accessory dealer on Hwy 183 across from Pep Boys between Lamar and Burnett does pretty good work. I bought by GTO from Champion Pontiac on Hwy 183 and they had mine tinted and it looks pretty good. Not sure who they used, but you can call their sales manager Joseph to find out. He's a really good guy - just tell him Tim told you to call him
