just found a 68 gto with rally dash. The tach is not working. It stands alone next to the dash cluster. The back of the tach only has one connection point. I do not see the typical switch and coil connections. The tach had a constant hot attached to the one connection point. There is a grounding bracket attached that also contacts the cig lighter.

Can anyone help explain the proper hook up for the tach with only one connection point? Thanks

Thanks for the info. My coil has no lead wire and I cant find a brown wire in the dash. I removed the tach and jumped a wire from the neg feed on the coil to the single spade on the tach while grounding the tach housing. No tach movement. Tried positive side of coil; still no reading. Guess I'm going to have to get the tach repaired.
