coil spring compressor questions

what is the best type of compressor to use on the front springs when the body is off of the frame?the service manual procedure would work good with the weight of the body, not so much without. external compressors wont draw tight enough.

I used the threaded rod style compressor when I had the body off the frame.

64 Impala SS 327/300 survivor
67 Impala SS 327 triple black hardtop
67 Impala Bench Seat 4 speed

that is the one that goes through the shock hole in the lower control arm right?
