67 sway bar and strut rod question.

I have tubular front control arms and a Addco sway bar #864.
On the passenger side of the car the end/edge of the sway bar is almost touching my coil spring but on the other side it has plenty of space. The bar is installed square to the frame and the car has never been wrecked. I thought my sway bar was bent so I took it off and set it on the floor. It looks great with no bend. So I looked at the strut rod and I'm showing more threads at the end of rod on the passenger side than the drivers side by about 1/2". The tires have even wear on both sides and the car drive s fine. Suggestions!

Sounds like some one tried to preload the car so it would turn better in one direction than the another (roundy round is famous for the habitual habit of turning only left in the hopes of finding a wreck to keep their fans happy). A bias is the only reason I can think of not to set everything square and even on the car so that both side can be kept from leaning in a corner instead of helping only with one direction of turning.

Big Dave,
Should both strut rods have the same amount of threads or close to the same?
Thanks

Yes the car should be symetrical; same on both sides.
