350 chevy timing chain cover

I have a problem with my 350 leaking oil where the timing cover interfaces with the oil pan. I have put a new rubber seal in with sealer. let it sit for 24 hours and it still leaks. The engine was just rebuilt. Is it possible that there is a high pressure oil pump, and this is my problem?

High pressure pump won't cause a leak there.

Too much internal pressure can contribute to it. Do you have an adequate pcv system and a breather ?

If you are using the old 4 piece pan gasket/seal, I highly recommend the 1 piece gasket. They seal the corners better but still benefit from a small dab of black ultra silicone in the corners, especially at that timing cover/oil pan/block area. Everything needs to be 100% clean and DRY for the silicone to adhere to the metal surfaces. No oil film at all. I use brake cleaner until it looks dry and then a final insurance wipe with acetone to be certain.
