62 Impala front springs

Hey guys I'm having a hell of a time getting my front springs re installed.I just can't seem to get them to seat right even with using a spring compressor..I had new bushings pressed in my a arms and painted them up with por 15. Now putting them back in is a chore.i have tried manipulating with a big bar and jack on the lower arm..not even close.... Any tips or advice..when I use the spring compressor it compresses the spring unevenly

I would try a different style spring compressor to get the spring compressed evenly and then get it banded so it can not expand until you cut the steel bands. Machine shops offered that service for a very reasonable fee back when I was still running a garage. Of course back then we never worried about scratching the paint on suspension parts (or in your case the POR 15 which may not even show a scratch from a steel band under a lot of pressure).

Yup....use the one Kaycee says. It's no picnic but it works. Barely goes into the coil but it will make it.
