self adjusting brakes

I imagine this has been asked before but I can't find it.

Does the 1966 front brakes have the self-adjusting feature? Mine seem to have always have pulled to the right and I've not yet tried to adjust the star-wheel because I was hoping the brakes were self-adjusting. (they certainly aren't doing it because it pulls right kind of quickly when at 40+ mph.)

You can check to see if the brakes differ in their adjustment by raising the front end to check for drag at each wheel. If one side is adjusted too tight, you can back it off. The Self Adjusters only work when you are backing up, AND tap the brakes while you are traveling in reverse.

Still have to state that pulling is generally a front end condition. Worn parts or mismatched parts (Pittman arm different length than the idler arm, different height of the tie rod end on one side compared to the other, etc.). Generally when the brakes are at fault it is due to a blown wheel cylinder, though I have seen brakes so out of adjustment that the drum was heat checked and the shoes glazed to a glass like sheen from a dragging brake.
