Need some help Please

I have a 68 Impala and found 2 sets of rear used weld wheels 15x10.5 that I want to buy if they work. The 2 Backspacing sizes are 3.375 and 3-7/8, will they work? The fronts I have no problems with just the rears. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Only Ide I have is before you maker a mistake buying the wrong part buy the right tool to measure tire fitment with a Percy's Wheel-Rite measuring tool for $75.

To find out what tire combination just visit your favorite brick and mortar tire store and wrap a couple of wire coat hangers around the tires you think will fit. Put a tape label (masking tape and a permanent felt tip sharpie pen until you can print a more permanent Brothers label on one inch label tape) on the various sizes so you can tell what is what.

Ramie, what size tire would you be putting on there? Sounds like a very tight fit.

I don't know about a 68, but I have a 67 Impala. Right now I'm running a 295/65R15 tire mounted on a 9" wide with 5" B.S. wheel. In order to fit that combo I had to modify the frame in that area. Very unlikely an approx. 3-1/2" B.S. will work. It will most likely push the tire/wheel way too far outboard.

Plus a 10.5" wide wheel is too wide for a 275/60R15 tire. Max recommended wheel width for that tire is 9.5".

Your best bet is most likely an 8" wide wheel with a 4.5" B.S.

I agree with Roman, a 275 fits nicely in the wheel-well but the 10.5 rim is wider than normal for that tire. Sure it will go on there, but it may look 'off' and would slightly compromise the tread contact patch.
I think that offset would make you have to roll the lip of the wheel-well.

My 66 with a 9.5" rim and 275 tire and it's a fairly close fit both inside and out.
