64 impala rear tire size suggestions

I am looking for suggestions on rear tire size to purchase. here is what I have....Polished Torq Thrust 2's, 7" fronts with mounted 225/60r15 TA'S....the rear torq's are 8". What would give the best profile for the rear; 245/60 or 255/60. I was going to do 225's all the way around, but the 225's just looked too small on those 8" rims on the back, just was not enough tire back there....if I have done my calc's correctly, here are the heights:

225 = 5.40"
245 = 5.88"
255 = 6.12"

PS...stock springs etc.

Jeff by height I am assuming you are talking about the side walls right? Most tires vary from 27-1/2 inch to 29 inches tall.

I generally recommend buying a Percy's wheel gauge available from Summit for about $75 bucks allows you to set it to any size tire wheel combination with any wheel offfset.

I'm running 245-15's on the rear and the exhaust is really close. I don't know if you could run 255's with exhaust over the axle.
