Tachometer

Hello today i decide to mess with my tachometer on my 1964 impala ss. It wasn't working when i got the car so i found a diagram of how its suppose to be wired . This is the diagram i was looking at

I noticed when i took it off the dash it had no ground
And my black and pink wire 1 of them was cut same for the Gray wire 1 was cut also
I noticed in the diagram it looks like its suppose to have two but these were cut for some reason.

And this is where he had them going to .

So what i tried to do was ground the tach and run the brown wire on the negative side of the coil and i got nothing . Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. And one more question anyone know of a good posi for 64 ss. Thanks

Best bet is to contact Donny on here from American Auto fire for help with wiring, I would also see if he has the replacement harness.

I would also check to see if it is a GM part and not a Sun Tach or a Dixco bought after the car was built. GM parts normally have the part number stamped into it.
