1966 Impala wiper motor

Having problem with the wiper motor on my 1966 Impala, it just click when I start the wipers.
Found a spring looking thin inside the wiper that was loose, connected to the black wire in one end and the other end wasnt connected to any thing, looked like it was broken of.

- were should it go?

- were can I buy spare parts?

- do anyone sell new motors?

- read somewere that I can use the camaro 67-69 wipermotor, its that true?

Thanks
Jimmy

Yes you are correct as most GM wiper motors interchange since the share the same three screw attachment hole spacing. The arm that bolts to the back of your old motor has to go on your replacement motor to have the same geometry (cover the same area).

I would test the motor with a powered wire right off the positive side of the battery to verify that your problem is not inside the motor but with the switch or in the wiring. If it doesn't work or you see the sacred smoke leave your wiper motor then it is time for either a rebuild or a replacement.
