What is this ground?

I found this ground hooked connected to the fire wall laying on the intake manifold. What does it go to?

Ground

Ethan,
Part of your radio grounding system. See the 1966 Impala assembly manual link below. Not sure what radio your car originally came with, check U63 for AM, U69 for AM/FM. etc, option section is in alphabetical order.

One end goes to the fire wall while the other end goes under one of the bolts holding the bell housing to the engine. It grounds the motor to the chassis. This is importnat as the only other wire that greounds the chassis is the 14 gauge wire that goes from the battery to the fender (which if you have recently painted the car's fender then you can pretty well eliminate that as a grounding source since plastic paint is an electrical insulator).

I'm at work as of right now but when 1600 rolls around I'll go check it out. I did the dumbest thing in the world by changing out the plugs, since doing so my car is misfiring. I realized last night my car has HEI while looking for the ignition coil. I pretty much feel like a complete jackass now. So either my car is misfiring due to being gapped at 35 or I broke the cables when removing. I reused the old plugs because I had AC Delco ones on order. I now have a completely useless set of AC Delco plug wires and a ignition coil. So if anyone wants them I'll let them go for a good price, or trade for a random useless part lol. I do need a rear antenna or the rear corner eyebrows... Just sayin

Btw one says radio ground one says engine. Should I just wire the the bitch to valve cover nut?
