No power issue 1969 Caprice

I have a 1969 Chevrolet Caprice that has a absolutely no power! It won't crank or no lights what so ever.... It sat in a barn for 20 years and critters chewed wiring under the hood.. Wiring from fuse panel back seems to be ok. I have replaced engine harnesses and still no power. Battery is good. Have grounds to both engine block and body and still nothing... Fuse panel seems to be ok. I am not very good at tracing down wiring issues. Help!

I think on the 69 they still used a wire from the horn relay to the interior to power pretty much everything.

Is there a 10 or 12 gauge wire (red) running directly from the positive battery terminal to the horn relay? (Likely on the driver's side, somewhere in the area right behind the headlights?) If that wire is not hooked up, you have pretty much nothing.

Hi Darth,
Thanks for responding... There is a red wire that mounts to the horn relay but no red wire from horn relay to positive battery post. I looked at wiring diagram and there is a red wire that mounts to a junction block in front of battery and from that junction block there is supposed to be a 14 gauge brown wire to positive battery side which I am missing that wire. I will get some wire and try that to see if that is the issue and let you know.. Thanks again for info..

It sounds like that may be your issue. I know 66's better than the later years so someone here may have more experience with this. However, it sure sounds like you're headed down the right path.

Updates are great!
