For new parts, I would only know to call the normal places that retail Impala parts. (there's at least a 1/2 dozen of them) I'm not sure how many places are legitimately *manufacutring* the socket though.

Elsewise, I could only suggest a junkyard/recycling yard which doesn't do you much good in Norway.

Ship me some of single hot blonde ladies and you can have my tail-lights.

I used to use NAPA Balkamp and Echlin replacement products before the rise of discount auto parts stores selling Chinese imports. They had an 1157 pig tail (light bulb replacement socket with wired soldered to it) as well as the single element 1141 pig tail.

All I can find today are cheaper copies of the Dorman originals. Here is a Dorman pig tail where the wire is not wrapped around the socket to give it it's common name when taken out of the card stock box it was put into so it could be stack ed on a shelf.

Can not attest to it's quality. But it is about the same price that I paid for them thirty to thirty five years ago.

Tail lights

My suggestion is to contact Donny on here from American Autowire, if he doesn't supply them I am sure he will know if a good source.

I replaced all my sockets with new a few years ago in my 65. The old and new sockets are junk. I could never get all of them to light at the same time. I finally replaced them with LED units. I cut the sockets out and wired them with plug in connectors. I also ran new grounds to every light. That was about 4 years ago. They are very bright and I have not had to touch them sense. Get rid of the bulbs and sockets! Are your brake lights this bright?
