Quesion on Dash Gauges

Hello All,
I have a 1974 Caprice. I am having trouble getting all of my Dash Gauges to work. Can someone please tell me HOW the Gauges receive Power ? Are the Gauges connected?
And HOW are these Gauges grounded ? And does anyone have any additional information on the Dash Gauges ? Thank you.

Gauges are all volt meters. They receive power from the fuse labeled "INST". Power goes through the gauge to the sending unit that has a variable resistance to ground.

Your engine is supposed to have four ground straps attached to it. One two gauge cable to the block for the starter motor, and three uninsulated (bare) flat braided copper cables. One of these flat cables goes to the frame, another to the body and the last to a stud that passes through the fire wall that the dash grounds unto.

As with any DC circuit any open in the circuit causes it cease to work.

Question on Dash Gauges

Thank you Dave ! So does each gauge have a separate feed? Or are these connected?

All are powered off one ten Amp fuse as they don't draw a lot of power. Most of the Amperage is sucked up by the tiny light bulbs that are all connected by the same thick film printed circuit (or fiberglass soldereded board).
