64 IMPALA won't start

Here's a new one for me! Car has been running great. Just finished installing under dash harness and vintage air. Car started right up no problem. Took he car off the jack stands, started right up. Put it in reverse and it stalled! Now it turns over but no start! Any ideas?

Always start with the simple stuff first. Check to see if it is getting Spark.

Update! It was blowing the backup light fuse! I replaced the fuse and it started right up. As soon as I put it in reverse, it stalled and blew the fuse again! Does anyone know where the backup light switch is on an SS?

Should be on the Shifter.

But I never heard of a car not being able to start because of a Light Fuse ??

Is the backup switch part of the neutral safety switch? I hope note you can't find those anywhere!

I am assuming that the backup switch is part of the neutral safety switch! I disconnected the harness at the floor shifter and jumpered the purple wires and everything works fine, I just have to remind my self to check that I am in park or neutral when I start!
Any other ideas?

Find out what is shorting out the circuit and blowing the fuse. Also check the back up lights to verify they are not on when you jumper the neutral safety/back up switch.

Update! I had installed front seat belts and the driver side bolts crushed both the Black/orange and the black/light green wires in the harness from the trunk! repaired the damage, reconnected everything and all seems to be OK!!
Does this make sense to everybody, I really appreciate all the help I have received on here!!
