All headlights turn off when turned on bright

Okay, the other day I noticed, out of the blue, that when I hit the floor dimmer switch on my 63 to turn the headlights on bright, they all go off. The dims work fine as well as the tail lights and instrument panel, so I'm confused. I thought it was the dimmer switch, so I put in a new one, but it does the same thing. I also checked the inside bulbs to see if they're bad, but both are fine. Besides, even if they were bad, the dims would still work, so I'm thinking maybe its a ground wire somewhere or something. Has anyone had this problem or recommend anything? Thanks, Shawn

If it's not the dimmer switch, (or the connections at the dimmer switch, it's time to get the test light out and check for power at the headlights. It sure sounds like the feed from the dimmer switch is bad.

I have heard from others on the same thing, I had to replace mine too. They are cheap and easy. (the switch, not the guys from this board that helped me)
