Weird Noise..... At Weird Times

On my '62/350 ever since I had the carb rebuilt it makes a weird screetching noise when I acc. It seems like it does it only when the electric fans are on and/or the oil pressure is high.

And that's another thing, my oil pressure has been higher than normal ever since the rebuild of the carb. Any ideas? The car runs GREAT!!! It's just the noise thats bugging me.

I don't understand how a noise from the area of the carb would happen when the electric fans on the radiator are on....???

Bearings in the alternator are complaining because you are drawing a full load out of your alternator.

Big Dave.... that sounds like it makes sense. Would you recommend a new battery or a new alternator in this case?

Battery holds a charge. The bigger the amp hour rating the more charge it holds. Your alternator has a fixed capacity. Most stock DN style alternators (those with an external voltage regulator) are horribly under rated in capacity for modern applications (36 Amp was the most common size with a 63 Amp being a big alternator). If you have an electric fan you are probably pulling everything the alternator can produce and drawing down the battery at the same time. I always recomend a modern CS one wire alternator unless you are going to use a pure stock car and change nothing electrical.
