Oil Light

Anyone know how to get the "OIL" light to turn off? Just did an oil change today not sure why it is still on? My buddy that works on cars tested oil pressure... That also turned out good... Any ideas?

Bad oil pressure sending unit, or the wire to the sending unit fell off and is grounding out against something.

The sending unit contains a normally closed switch with a six psi spring holding it closed. Any oil pressure above that amount opens the switch turning off the light. Bad sending unit or wire grounding out are two possibilities if you have good measured oil pressure.

Thanks for the fast reply Big Dave. Will check wires and put in new oil pressure sending unit tomorrow and see if that works...
