Gas leak?

Hi all,

Came home from running errands and noticed my 67 4 dr was leaking gas between the tank and the rear right wheel. I took a look and traced the leak up the frame to a small tube to the left of the wheel, attached to the inside of the frame. I've had the car a few months and have been working on it, but haven't had any fuel issues until now. The tank was full as of yesterday, and two days ago I did put a bottle of fuel system cleaner in it. It appears it only leaked about a quart. Any insight anyone can provide before I dive into this is very appreciated!

I forgot to mention, the tube was open, not cut or rotted away. Almost looks like some sort of spill over tube but I'm not sure. Thanks again.

It is the gas tank vent tube. It was probably hot where you lived today. Gasoline expands when it gets hot (no surprise there most things do, but not all) so if you fill up your gas tank when it is cool expect it to over flow during the day when it gets hot.

I was hoping it would be that simple. Thanks Big Dave, have a good weekend!
