67 Impala Horn Relay

What is the best way to test the horn relay. Relay is getting power and when put power directly to the horns they are functioning. Before pull the steering wheel to check the horn button wanted to insure that the 45 year old horn rely is operational. Thanks Bob

Bob,
Your horn relay will have some red wires attached to the side terminals and on the bottom there will be a green and a black wire attached to the two prongs. The green wire goes to the horns and the black wire goes to your horn switch.

Your horn switch is just a grounding type switch so all you need to do is pull off the bottom black wire from the horn relay and run a jumper wire to a good ground (like your battery negative post). This grounding will trigger your relay and send 12V out the green wire to your horns.
