94 Impala SS transmission

.
I have a problem with my impala's trans. sometimes when driving in first gear it feels like the back wheels are vibrating and stalling until it goes in 2nd then everythings fine.recently with the cold weather it got worst, it was hard for me to put in Reverse.it would shut off and roll.I'ma thinking the transmission needs to be rebuilt, but do anyone have any ideas that i my need to try first?thanks in advance.

You are correct in your assesment of the problem. I would call that broke. Suspect a broken Sprag.

i did a total rebuild on my 95 imp , never did one before but i'm glad i did. cost me less than $300.00 and was very simple ,just takes time and patients. borrowed a book from a buddy and ordered the kit online, it ended up being a broken spring.

good luck
