Thumbs down Buddy just called! Wrecked his Vette las

He's ok! Just hit a tree! Cars a total loss!

He's been wanting a vette forever and last year I found him one, a 1976! He ended up buying it and brought it by my place to see and one of the first thing he starts talking about is how fast it is and boy it sure has balls blah blah blah...I play Daddy and tell him not to be stupid in it cuz frankly he doesnt have any experiance really with a vehicle of that caliber ect...he's been driving a jeep cherokee.

Now fast forward to last nite...and this is just down the road from my place in town. Said he was going to make a left at an intersection but then saw a few buddies so he pulled up to talk to them. They left and he went to leave and "I let the clutch out a lil fast and lost control and hit a tree!" Now this is a 25mph zone. Now what I get out of his story is he was trying to hot rod for his buddies and show off and it bit him in the ***!
I'm just glad that nobody got hurt!

It reminds me of the first time I got on a motorcycle. I let off the clutch too fast and climbed a tree

a 25 mph zone and a total loss, surprised he didn't get ticketed for a number of things, maybe he did. Well, if he gets another vette I'm sure his attitude has been "adjusted" by this experience.

Glad to hear he is ok.

Thats why insurance goes up for the rest of us. I had a 1975 Corvette I wasn't impressed with it's power at all but it was a stock 350 with turbo 400 automatic.

Ah that'll buff out. Glad your friend and his daughter are OK. What a shame he killed the car. Live and learn...

My friend Brian Thompsons 62 (member on here) just got wrecked.

A 19 year old girl ran a red light while she was texting and he t boned the side of her car, the car spun around. His dog was in the car and got a little messed up but they are both doing ok. He had insurance, sad part is Brians car has only been finished a few months.

"A 19 year old girl ran a red light while she was texting..."

Nothing torques me off more than seeing this happen. So damn stupid to be trying to do this while driving. Makes it even worse when a classic like this pays the penalty. Glad no one was hurt, even the texting idiot. I wish I had a buck for every teenage nitwit I've startled all to hell by blowing the horn at them when I see it happening next to me. Not hard to spot, they drive like a drunk driver.
Makes me wish it could be disabled in some way while driving. The Garmin GPS unit I bought my wife will NOT let you punch in data while the car is in motion. Since most if not all new phones have GPS locators in them, if not full blown GPS function, I wish that'd be an option for texting. I'm sure it's because the keys for texting and phone function are the same and thus you couldn't use the phone either, but it'd be nice to cut down on distractions instead of adding new ones all the time.
