Impala Dash

Good Morning

I'm a member over at Team Camaro under the same name I have here. I ran across an Impala in a junk yard the other day with a dash cluster with full gauges and a factory tach. I don't know alot about Impala's so I figured this would be the best place to ask if it's worth buying? It's in need of a full resto, but look at the pic and let me know what you think.

I'm confused are you wanting to restore the car or the dash?

Neither I want to know if it's worth my time to buy the dash from the junk yard or is it a run of the mill dash that comes in lots of Impalas. I hate to see rare parts get crushed. And if it is worth getting what's a good price to pay?

Welcome to the Team Ray!

I appreciate you thinking of us in terms of salvaging parts. I unfortunately can not answer that question, as I don't know how rare the gauge versus idiot lights were in early Impalas (your find looks like a 1965-'66 series dash), but once again I am no expert in this area.

Looks to be a SS car with a standard shift colum, AC and a tach in the dash. its been in the weather for a while but the tach is worth saving. I would try to save a lot of other things there but thats because I own two 65 Impalas. 69

It is a '65 SS dash. If that is a tach it is probably worth getting, don't forget the harness. If it is a vacuum gauge I wouldn't bother with it. The tach price is hard to judge; if it were working and decent appearing it should bring $200-$300.
