The only series of Impalas that has fewer members on this board than the 1971-'76 cars are the 1977-'90 Impala owners. They are out there but I don't don't see a lot of activity from them as far as posts go. The vast majority of members on this board own early sixties Impalas; with most owning cars being made between 1962 and 1968.

For some strange reason that is what the reproduction industry is just starting to pay attention to as the number of requests from those needing parts have started to attract their attention.

The 1994-'96 Impala SS cars have their own boards and they rarely drop in here. Even though the 1991-'96 model run was the last gasp for rear wheel drive cars thanks to CAFE restrictions. All cars made from 1977-'96 shared the same suspension and only the sheet metal parts where changed as this series of Impalas saw the last of the original SBC motors, and the introduction of the SBC II motor and the new LS-x series of motors. It also was the series of cars that saw the return to power numbers last seen in the late sixties as computers were finally used to make power instead of just lower emissions.

I believe I have a set of those hubcaps that are on that black car. Let me know if you want me to look for them.

Two doors, four doors, wagons, and ragtops.

Sweet get with me on total. I still need to get the fender skirts on. Should be easy. Just been sidetracked. I need the back sail panel more though. When they chromed it the holes for the screws got smaller.

the parts are very hard to sell, as well, have a pair of 71-76 doors, including a spirit of america with sport mirror, a few fenders, and a 71 four door parts car that have been sitting in the classifieds for several years now. the yard here had several cleaner examples, including a pair of two doors, but seemed to be in a great hurry to crush them then for the weight.

I have parted out a half dozen of these cars and some parts are easy to sell while others are tough. It also depends on what your prices look like. Do you have any inner fenders? Are you willing to ship them?

Anyone have a good grille for a 74 Impala 4dr? Mine has a small piece broken out of it. Also looking for a factory AM radio and complete door and trunk seals. New to the forum and wasn't seeing a parts wanted section like I have on my Jeep forums, so if I'm in the wrong place, just let me know. Thanks

As you can tell by the history of posts about this series, they are not exactly barn burning due to activity here. There are about three maybe four folks who in the last decade I have been looking at posts who have expressed an interest; or actually own one of these barges. This was the reason that Chevy brought the SBC 400 to market as these were not only the largest B, C and D body cars produced but the heaviest. The C-body shared the same frame and sheet metal but was a front wheel drive car, the older D body where based upon the Chevy B-body but where either converted into ambulances or limos by stretching the body and frame ten inches in the rear foot well.

Keep in mind Cadillac, Buick, Olds and Pontiac all made B-body cars that have the same sheet metal and frames; but differ in trim motors and interior. Well that is mostly true they used the same dies but had different inserts to ad a fake air vent or ridge in the hood or some insignificant thing to separate a Cadillac from the same car called a Chevy that cost a half to a third the price. Different motors were significant as in this time frame the Caddy V-8 displaced over 500 cubes, and Buick had a 455 that put out more torque than Chevy's 454. Most Chevy Impalas had a SBC 350 as the base motor with the 454 or the SBC 400 offered as an option.

If you need patch panels or full quarters look at the other GM marquees to see if you can find some good used metal to repair your Chevy.
