I have watched him since his match racing days (before they decided upon a Pro Stock Class).
Last talked to him and got his autograph three years ago while he was still powering Dave Connelly's Pro Stock car. I was going to get him set up with some good hand made cigars from Tampa's Ybor City where there are still some octogenarians rolling and blocking Honduran tobacco to make a fine custom cigar with a select natural outer leaf.
His innovation and engineering feats will be missed (the only other degreed mechanical engineer building motors in Pro Stock that I know of is Jason Line, who hasn't exactly broken out of the pack the way Da Grump did when challenged). A remarkable man!
