Gift from my Father-in-Law

I was out tinkering the other day when my F.I.L. pulls up the drive.
He gets out of his car and has a grin on his face.

He hands me an envelope. In it is a set of Illinois dealer plates from 1960.
The envelope is the one they were delivered in.

They were from a GM dealer to boot (all be it, a Cadillac & Oldsmobile dealer)

There are a few small scratches and a little surface rust on the holes, but beyond that... they are in pretty awesome condition.

Cool! Can you run them in your state? I know here in Ohio we can register them to our cars if someone else hasn't registered them yet.

we can display them... but we have to valid tags with the state... the valid tags must be in the car (should you be pulled over)...

Pretty much same here. We have to buy historical plates to go with them that we keep in the trunk.
