Big Chevy Racing Back in the Day

These are some heavy duty Chevies from 1962-1963.All of these cars were on display in York Pa. annual York US 30 Dragway RE-Union Show.If you can ever go,you will totally enjoy yourself,will be held this year from July 11th-13th..Drag cars from the 50's,60's,and 70's grace this show.All of these cars were powered by 409 Chevy engines.Some using the newly designed Z-11 engine that was avialiable only for a month or so in 1963. These three pictures were Dave Strickler's Old Reliable II







This was Dave Stricker's Old Reliable IV.this was one of the rare Z-11 Chevies,only 50 produced.Had all aluminum front end,bumpers and trunk.





These two also were 1963 Z-11 cars .








This was the Larry Wilson car after restoration,also a Z-11 car.

1964 Chevrolet Impala Convertible-409/425hp,4 speed,3:73 posi,original owner
1973 Corvette Stingray Coupe-350/275hp-L-82,4 speed,posi rear-original owner
2005 Cadillac CTS-V,Z06 Corvette Motor,6 speed ,posi rear end,original owner

David,go to the auction in Philadelphia the weekend of the 26th of January.The auction is all 59-67 Chevy items.I understand there's about 30 409 motors that will be auction ed off.Here's the web site,check it out. http://www.bssauction.com/ Quite a few cars and engine components here.
