Washed my engine today

I bought some Simple Green, firm toothbrush at CVS and used three plastic bags to cover air cleaner, distributor and alternator. Everything else got sprayed with Simple Green, brushed and soaked with water. Engine is a lot cleaner now and what's more important, it started without a problem after about 15 minutes of drying in the sun.

The only thing is that right now it smells like a toothpaste or whatever the smell of Simple Green is. Hopefully this will go away in a day or so.

I have to take pictures. The engine bay has changed a bit since I put chrome valve covers and new air cleaner. I have old pictures when I bought the car so I will be able to post before and after shots. Hopefully this weekend I will be able to do it.

Mmm! Minty-Fresh!

I'm used to just dousing it with Gunk Engine-Brite, and taking it to the self-serve car wash, and blasting off the grease with the power-washing wand!

I'm sure yours smells much better, tho.
