Coil Spring Insulators?

Hey gang, finishing up a total rebuild of the front suspension on my 69 Kingswood (CPP drop spindle + disc conversion kit, new bushings all around, shocks & replacement Moog stock height springs).

Chilton's manual talks about spring insulators, my car doesn't appear to have had them from the factory but I realize they are easily found. I've found conflicting thoughts on it within restoration/hot-rod culture at large.

Anyone have an opinion/input as it relates to the need on a Impala's front and/or rear springs?

They were installed to reduce squeaks and dampen road vibrations. The car can live without them, as the Chevelle and Camaro didn't use them at all. A compromise would be to replace the rubber originals with some black polyurethane plastic ones.
