I told him I'd have left it there.

It hasn't been on the road in 45 years!!!

The old shoebox Ford is cool. Whats his plan for the other thing? A flower pot? LOL.
Seriously though is he going to restore it? The bottom side must be about gone.

The old Ford is cool. What is that other thing? LOL! Honestly, for free I'd have taken it too, then figure out later what to do with it!

Looks like you need to do some heavy research. It seems strange that this Moretti made it to the US. I wouldn't think a small Italian car company would be able to export something like it. Looks like an early 50's Moretti, Tour Du Monde. They shared parts with Fiat at some point. Moretti had something to do with Alfa Romeo also. I've read where the early, dual overhead cam engines (pre Fiat) could be very valuable.

You might be sitting on some pretty valuable parts, at a minimum, if you want to deal with what will likely be a European rebuilder. Crazy looking little car, but you never know. There's a buyer for everything.

The tall guy in the picture is the new owner, he says he want's to make it a rat rod. just put whatever parts he and another buddy have laying around and make it driveable.

I say strip it and put a cage in it, some sticky tires and about 150hp motor and go auto-crossing! (but it's a huge rust bucket!)

That 50's Moretti would be a cool chop and Chanel like the 49 & 50 Merc's I know it's small but that would be something to see.
