Any Quadrajet Experts? Question...

Hi all.

I am putting back the original carb to 66 caprice after letting it sit for some time and needing a rebuild. I noticed it has a post mount broken off (?). Not sure when that happened but being an earlier (66) carb it is normally sealed and not used for vacuum or anything (that I can tell or remember). I mocked up the linkages and lower plate assembly and really do not see much of a need or concern for what was there. Does anyone know if this will be a problem? Does it work as a stopper for the plastic weight? Any info appreciated. Thanks.

I think the choke linkage attaches to the broken piece.

Thanks. Yes, it is one of three, but really it just rests on it which is why I wasn't sure how critical it would be without it. Since it has the two other mounts which is where the actual linkage screws onto.

I think I am just going to put it aside and keep using the later carb on the car.
