off topic but still related

i recently bought a 2006 silverado. really good deal. $10k with 120k on it 4.3l 4x4. my transmission is kinda jumping into second. should i take it to a transmission shop or just go to the dealership and get a brand new one installed. i have three silverados in total for my business and there are some common problems i find with all of them (ie the heater switches all seem to break and need to be replaced to get the fan up and running again, speedometers stop working, the mysterious anti-freeze dissapearance) is my transmission issue here just a common problem with an easy fix like the heater switch?

any help would be appreciated................especially some of you guys that work in service departments or go through silverados the way i do.

I have an 03 Silverado SS, and have not heard of that problem. When you say jumping, do you mean the shift from 1st to 2nd is harder than it ought to be?
