Best V8 Sound Ever

Hi Guys,

i´ve been looking around in youtube deciding which way to go with my exhaust and found some cool videos listening to V8´s.

Which is the ultimate american V8 sound??

Here are some that I liked.

The video on the top sounds good to me. I think I would go with that one.

The problem with those is, you may never get that same sound as those are different engines, and different exhaust systems. You need to do a search on the same (or close) type of car you have.

sadly with my V8 283 it would be hard to achieve those sounds, those are the ones that I will try and get once I swap engines. I can get my hands on a 350 for a fair price here in Uruguay. Anything larger would be hard to find and expensive.

The difference between a 283 and a 350 will be noticeable in the seat of the pants. Anyone conducting an inspection will not notice the difference if you retain the old decals and sheet metal as they all look alike from the outside.

It will require an old four barrel intake with an oil fill tube in the intake that you can still find on e-Bay or to buy one brand new on line (unless you feel comfortable in matching a hole in a newer aluminum intake manifold).

Here is a 1955-61 old style oil fill tube without a PCV inlet that used a road draft tube.

Here is one with a PCV inlet which will keep it legal even in California.

Cool. I like that video. Both of the Hushpower mufflers sounded good. I also really liked the original 40 Series. Nice find!
