New guy from Kansas

My name is Jim Wharton and I have been visiting this site off and on for awhile and decided to join. I live in Udall, KS which is about 20 miles SE of Wichita, KS. I am in the process of bringing a 1965 Impala SS back to life from a pretty dismal condition. I have been working on it for about 2 years and making slow but steady progress. It was originally a 283 car with powerglide and will have a 454 with 700r4 when completed. It was originally a white car with red interior and will be when finished except the white will be a bright white instead of the original white. I had a red with white interior4 speed car back in my high school days and always admired the white with red interiors back then. Hopefully joining will allow me to get some questions answered as I proceed and perhaps connect with some other enthusiasts in my area. I am not doing a absolute original car as I will be using aftermarket parts and making some suspension and drivetrain upgrades as I go, however the interior will be as near to OEM as possible.
God Bless!
Jim

Hey Jim, welcome to the site.
I'm fairly new to this forum myself.
Good luck with the rebuild.

Welcome to the Team Jim!

Do you have a bomb proof Tornado bunker to store the car in when you are not working on it. Hate to think of loosing all that work at this point. Just watching the news with a triple header twister in Nebraska.

Thanks guys! Yea Big Dave, I live in tornado alley and have seen a lot of damage from them. My wifes sister and husband lost everything they had 2 years ago. Thank God for good insurance! well headed to the steering forumas I have just hit a big snag.
