Hello from Shawnee, KS - 1961 Impala 2 Door Sedan

Hello All,

I just became the proud 3rd owner of an all original 1961 Impala 2 door sedan. It had resided in the same small town since it was purchased in '61. It was sold new in Brunswick, MO.

It is 809 code gray interior and 900 code tuxedo black. It still retains it's original engine, a 235 six with a 3 speed. No power equipment, I believe it to be a radio delete as well. The body is absolutely solid, paint and interior is original but need tlc.

I have always had a soft spot for the 2 door post cars. This one showed up on my radar and I jumped on it in 2 hours!

I have owned multiple collector cars, but this is my first B body. I will inevitably have a lot of questions. Thanks for letting my aboard!

That is a nice car. We had a black 61 2 door post and sold it to my brother 10-12 years ago and he still has it. We have a 61 4 door now that is our power tour car, its a great car but there is not much love for the 4 doors.

Has a trailer hitch, I wonder what kind of towing it did?

Ha, David! That trailer hitch is the first thing coming off! Talk about a shin accident waiting to happen.

I was just imagining how the super soft ride on these cars and a big trailer would get along

But I guess they did do it back in the day....

Yeah, that one looks painful being non-removable like a receiver hitch.

Car looks to be in nice condition for original.

It would look good with a '59 canned ham on the back...
