long time lover, but newbie owner
Hello y'all. Loads of info on this site.I remember when ever the fire bell rang in our town when i was a kid the chief was gonna come around the corner on almost 2 wheels in either his 64 Impala SS or his 69 Chevelle. That's where my love for a 64 Impala SS came from. I told my friends years ago that I was gonna have one, and all they said was how big they were. But for me it was all about looks. Other than the 62 Coupe DeVille I don't know a more beautiful shaped car. But that's me. On my 50th birthday, after large amounts of moonshine I bought one on line, sight unseen from Grove Automotive in Alabama. Car is a C code Dorval Georgia built and sold new at Wood Chevrolet in Birmingham. i should mention that the fire chief from my youth is my neighbor and sat in the drivers seat the first day i put it in the driveway and told me the story of his car.He still remembered the colors, the horse power and where and to whom he sold it 40 years before. You could see him go back in time and relive his youth, just as i was doing. I should add that he wishes he had never let his 64 go.
