1967 2DR Hardtop - The Saga Begins

Just picked up a 1967 2DR HT project. I knew it needed quarters and trunk work. Also had the floors fibreglassed from front to rear. I knew that was going to be interesting once I started stipping it down. Yep, as I suspected, needs full pans. Oh well. It'll be a long term project so no hurries. Just cut and weld a bit at a time.

Welcome to the Team!

Do you have dedicated space to work on your project out of the weather? The next question is you have a rotisserie to mount your car body on so you can weld on it. (assumes you also have a welder and know how to weld). If you do not have a rotisserie you can find plans on line to weld one up out of scrap iron found in salvage yards (industrial scrap versus automotive). I have built a lot of projects from drops purchased at scrap metal prices instead of buying a new twenty foot length of rectangular tubing or round stock. This is because you will need a lot of time and patience to stich in the replacement panels not to mention a few lengths of bar stock to brace the car to hold the dimensions correct.

HI, Dave,
I don't have a rotisserie, but this is a good excuse to build one. The tip about picking up steel at the salvage yard is a great idea. I'll have to check around some of the local yards.
I do have a welder. Just had to order a new liner for the gun. Should be here this week.
Thanks for the ideas!
Denny
