Hello from RVA
I've been creeping around the forums on and off for a while and figured it was time to register. I have been an Impala owner since I was 14 (68 Fastback 327/275). I also own a '04 Impala SS, which I have enjoyed more than I thought I would, but it's still not my Beast.
The Beast started as a project car back in '92 when I was 14, living in Connecticut. It was in good shape mechanically, but needed lots of body work. I did what mechanical work it needed myself, under the guidance of my grandfather. A friend of the family did all the body work for me. She was a great car until I moved out of my moms house 9 years later.
Unfortunately until now I was not able to devote the time and money to get it down to central Virginia and house it like it should be, and it has now turned into the flip of the restoration 25 years ago. My mom kept it in her garage for me (on an oriental rug), but never ran it like I asked her to. So the body and frame are in great shape but it needs mechanical help. Luckily the guy that did the body work for me agreed to get it running for me. Once down in Virginia my own 14 year old son and I will spend the next couple of years getting back in top running shape for it to be his first car.
I only have one physical photo of the car floating around. When I can take a digital picture if it and upload I will.
