63 Belair 4dr in South Louisiana

I was recently given my aunt's family car. A 1963 Belair 4dr, 230, column shift. I've been learning a lot as I go, (The car needs cosmetic work), but I've enjoyed my first foray into Chevrolets. Since I picked it up from Lagrange, Ga. last October, I've gotten it driveable after sitting 7 years in a wooden shed. Looking forward to learning more about the car as I slowly get it back to a close facsimile of its golden days.

Welcome to the Team Matt!

Watch for leaks as modern alcohol laced fuel eats it's way through the rubber fuel lines used in the early sixties. There are three hoses from tank to carb that need replacing to avoid a fire.

Thanks for the tip! Fortunately, I had already replaced them after I brought the car home.

Sounds like you got an ultimate sleeper project going. Stuff a big block under the hood with a 700R4 going to a 12 bolt with 4:11 gears and you'll be watching the doors fly off the cars you pass in no time. Granted their won't be a single gas station you can pass.

Welcome to the Team!
