Tberg

Hi guys, really enjoy the site. I am from Long Island NY. I have had three or four 1968 Impalas. I now have a 1968 Impala SS 427 numbers matching survivor. Bought from Nevada. Was in Texas ans Louisiana. First time on the east coast. The car has absolutely no rust is Matador Red, white parchment interior with A/C.
Anytime I feel I can add something to the conversation I will.
Looking forward, Tom Berger

Welcome to the Team Tom!

What do you run for gas? With cast iron closed chambered heads, and a 10.5:1 static compression you must have to detune the motor to stay out of detonation; even with worn rings.

Very nice! I'm a big '68 guy too. Mine is also Matador red, but is a non-SS convertible and a 396/TH400.

Hey Big Dave, the motor is a little tired and I can run 93 octane with lead substitute with no pinging.
