1965 Impala

Starting a fresh new restoration for a 1965 Impala. I picked up a 4.8 Motor out of as 2001 Silverado. Are any modification to the crossmember required in order to make this fit?

Welcome to the Team G.R.!

Depends upon your pan choice. If you buy an aftermarket Holley LS-x into muscle car engine swap kit no, other wise yes.

The Holley kit includes motor mounts, headers oil pan and adapters to allow a manual tranny to be used if desired (you still need to buy a hydraulic clutch kit and fly wheel they just provide the shims). Chevy never put the passenger side high bolt hole in the block because if you drill and tap it for a bell housing bolt it will go through into the number eight cylinder.

welcome to the site!

Sorry I don't know on the oil pan. That Holley muscle car pan is popular though, it may work with some adjustable motor mounts.

By the way, they make a plastic LS block you could use as a mock-up and check clearance without ever dirtying up a pan. If it doesn't fit, send it back! Then the plastic block can be sold later in the project to the next guy doing some LS swap.
