Owner of a 64 impala 4 door

Hi everyone this is my first post with my first impala a white 64 4 door impala, 283, powerglide, and a factory 3.36 posi rear end. In its glory day it was in the movie men in black 3. It was a smash car in the movie this is why the fenders are different and hood is missing.

I thought it was odd but when i pulled the rear it had the P and was dated to 64. I was shocked but i have hurd of the 283s haveing a steeper gear because of the low torque. Mystery.

Posi's were sold to the public back then for cars that spent time plowing snow drifts between suburbia and their slave cubicle in the work towers of the big city.

You could probably buy a two door '64 for what a Corvette owner will pay you for that posi head, as they have much more money than cents.

Hmm. Thats interesting i know the car came from a owner from Iowa then it was sold to a film company. Then it ended up on Long Island. Well numbers matching doesnt bother me. So if the price is right then its for sale. Lol

Well, as least the car didn't get damaged that bad.

In a somewhat related story, even though I'm all Chevy, I once got a hold of a '68 Pontiac Bonneville front clip, that I saved from a car that was heading to the crusher. I advertised it nationally and got a call from Hollywood. They were filming in Savannah, GA and needed another front clip for a car that got crashed during filming. The movie was "Forces of Nature" with Sandra Bullock. I'm not one for the movies, but finally got to see it when it came on TV one day. For those who may remember the movie, the car was the Bonneville Convertible in it.

Nice '64 Impala by the way.

P cases are not quite worth the cost of a 2 door, $700-$900, but definitely a nice piece. Now days a lot of people prefer to just convert their existing center section or they upgrade the center section when going to a more modern drive train. Looks like you got a good 4 door to work with. If I was doing a 4 door I would be doing a police cruiser clone.
